Teaching
CAREERS IN GEMMOLOGY
Teaching and transmission of knowledge
The know-how of an experienced gemmologist is precious, and deserves to be shared!
If the desire to teach and pass on knowledge is present, it is quite possible to work full time in a gemmology school.
A gemmologist can also share their knowledge as a guest speaker, whether in a gemmological school or a more specialized establishment, give their own courses focused on a more specific field of gemmology, or act as a speaker.
New techniques also make it possible to deliver gemmological knowledge in other ways: whether through video clips, or one’s own channel on Youtube, or other virtual media.

Required diplomas
The diploma required will depend on the level of knowledge and teaching that will be provided.
Thus, in order to train future gemmologists, the WGF Career Gemmologist Diploma is essential.
If it is a question of giving basic courses, practical workshops leading to an attestation, a certificate, the training for the iGEM Certificate of Gemmology can be sufficient. As far as iGEM is concerned, all teachers are internationally graduated from different schools and trainings in order to provide the most complete teaching.
