The EGM offers 5 modules as part of the trainings towards WGF Career Gemmologist and WGF Diamond Professionnal. These modules can however be taken individually, respecting the order of progression as presented below. These modules are theoretical courses, which are also offered on-site in French. Each module ends with an examination, which is rewarded with a certificate.
The schedule is flexible and depends primarily on the objectives of each student.

The modules offered are:

1. Basic Gemmology: this course is to be taken first as it gives all the basics and notions of gemmology on which to build your skills.

2. Coloured Gemstones then immerses students in the world of natural coloured gems by species and varieties.

3. Advanced Gemmology: an in-depth course on all the gem treatments and syntheses found on the market, taking into account the latest advancements, the ways of identifying them, as well as the ethical or commercial issues involved.

4. Gem Identification: this fourth course will allow students to learn and create their references towards identification of gems by colour.

1 or 5. Diamonds: this course focuses on diamonds, and can be taken either first (and alone) or after the coloured gemstones courses. However, it is advisable to follow Basic Gemmology before this module.
