A laboratory report is a gem’s best friend and authenticates its quality. It is a business driver by improving trust between the different professionals involved in the industry. The information it contains is recognized by all professionals and is easily accessible to their clients.

The iGEM Gemmology Laboratory offers different reports for all your unsealed gems. Both diamonds and coloured gems can be analyzed by our team to produce a report.

Our simplified 4C reports contain all the information on the quality of the diamonds. However, they do not show the pattern of localized inclusions in the diamond.

Our equipment allows us to classify a large number of colourless (<0.25 ct) melee diamonds by identifying potential intruders such as synthetic or treated diamonds and natural or synthetic imitation gems. These will be identified and segregated. They will not be included in the final classification report.

You can have your rough diamonds examined by our gemologists in order to estimate their quality and cutting potential. You will receive a rough diamond grading report.

This report indicates on the one hand the characteristics of the rough diamond:  

  • Weight

On the other hand, it will give you a size estimate by describing the characteristics of the future cut diamond(s) that it will be possible to obtain: estimate of the weight and dimensions of the future cut diamond(s) (yield), colour range, clarity range.

The classification of rough diamonds is subject to certain conditions on the origin of the diamonds in relation to the Kimberley process and the traceability of the diamonds.

Two different price scales will be applied depending on the nature of the gem.
