Before embarking on gemmological studies, some people want to have an overview of what this rich discipline offers. Others simply want to know more about a particular gem, without having to learn all the notions of gemmology.

With this in mind, the EGM has set up four 3-hour courses, each focusing on one of the great gems: The Ruby’s Beauty, The Sapphire’ Secrets, The Fascinating Emerald and The Eternal Diamond.
Theoretical knowledge of mineralogy, the history of famous gems, the market and the gradation of colour, as well as a practical aspect with the use of gemmological instruments and the observation of gems thanks to the school’s collection are covered.

In the same format, our Basic Gemmological Instruments Workshop allows you to discover or perfect the use of office instruments.

Avant de se lancer dans des études de gemmologie, certains et certaines souhaitent avoir un aperçu de ce que propose cette riche discipline. D’autres ont simplement envie d’en savoir plus sur une gemme en particulier, sans avoir à apprendre l’ensemble des notions de gemmologie.

Dans cet esprit, l’EGM a mis en place 4 cours de 3h chacun, centrés sur une des grandes gemmes : le rubis, le saphir, l’émeraude et le diamant.
Y sont abordés aussi bien les connaissances théoriques de minéralogie, l’histoire de gemmes célèbres, le marché et la gradation de la couleur, qu’une partie pratique avec l’utilisation d’instruments de gemmologie et l’observation des gemmes grâce à la collection de l’école.

Dans le même format, l’EGM remet à l’honneur les gemmes « oubliées » ou méconnues, ces gemmes ô combien belles et précieuses, mais que l’on connaît moins. N’hésitez pas à participer à notre Cabinet des curiosités, un joli cours de 3 heures qui redonne à ces pierres leurs lettres de noblesse.
