Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm
Address: 460 Sainte Catherine West, Suite 913, Montreal (QC) H3B 1A7

How an appointment works

The appraisal is done in your presence, with the taking of photos and parameters of the jewellery. Once this information is taken, you will get your gem or jewel back directly.

However, if you wish, a deposit is possible in order to save you time. We then make a deposit voucher that insures your entrusted goods (see the Service Agreement in the General Policy section). These are deposited in a secure safe.

We carry out the drafting of the appraisal once the appointment is over. This allows us to seek the fairest price in relation to the market. The time needed to write the appraisal will depend on the number of gems or jewels to be appraised, and the complexity of their mounting.

Once the appraisal report is written, you will receive a paper copy by hand or by mail and a PDF copy (sent by email) that you can send to your clients, or any other person or entity concerned by the appraisal (insurance, notary, lawyer, judge, beneficiary, etc…).
You will be the sole recipient of this report. Except in the case of a court order, the Centre will not pass it on to anyone else. This guarantees irreproachable impartiality and confidentiality.

If a piece of jewellery or a gem requires further examination or laboratory analysis, we will let you know. Why do such an analysis? Currently, a large number of gems on the market have received treatments, which considerably affects their price. In case of doubt on our part, the laboratory equipment will allow us to make sure with fast and non-destructive techniques. In addition, a laboratory report can also authenticate the natural character of a gem without treatment. These stones being rare, the report will bring a significant added value.
This additional test cannot be done without your agreement. If this must be done, we will establish with you a deposit slip for this object. It will then be covered by our insurance and returned to you after the analysis.
This service is provided by the iGEM Gemmology Laboratory.

We can also come to your home or to the premises of a professional. This appointment is made by phone.
