IGEM Diploma (new version scheduled for 2028)
The IGEM Diploma is the Institute’s most comprehensive training program. Available both in-class and through e-learning (theoretical part only), it trains professional gemologists to identify, analyze, certify and add value to gems in all contexts: jewelry, laboratory, appraisal, sales, creation or teaching.
Diploma in Jewellery and Stone Appraisal
Reserved for qualified gemologists, this professional training program enables you to acquire all the skills needed to appraise and evaluate jewels and stones according to market standards.
You’ll learn how to decipher hallmarks, materials, styles, sizes, treatments and market trends, so you can draw up reliable, well-argued appraisal reports for use in sales, inheritance, insurance or customs.
IGEM Diamond Diploma
This program trains professionals in the identification, analysis and grading of cut diamonds.
Accessible even without any gemology prerequisites, it is aimed at diamond enthusiasts, retailers or future professionals wishing to master all the technical and visual basics of the queen stone.
IGEM Diamond Expert Diploma
A complete course to become a cut AND rough diamond specialist. The program covers mineralogy, grading, advanced instruments, rough stone analysis and market operations.
It can be accessed without a previous gemmology diploma, with distance learning and face-to-face courses available to suit your schedule.

Certificates and specializations
IGEM offers training courses and specializations for those who wish to deepen their skills, retrain or enhance their professional profile without having to follow a long course of study.
IGEM Gemmology Certificate
The 4-level IGEM Gemmology Certificate is designed for jewelry professionals, salespeople, designers and enthusiasts who want to learn how to identify, analyze and add value to gems.
Follow at your own pace, each level leading to a certificate. Once the 4 levels and practical workshops have been validated, the final exam leads to the IGEM Gemmology Certificate.
Please note: The IGEM Certificate in Gemmology is not a title of gemmologist in the academic sense of the term. It is a recognized professional training course in the jewelry sector, ideal for structuring your knowledge, advancing in your profession or validating a specific skill.
Specializations
IGEM also offers targeted training courses (courses and workshops) on specific business topics. Each specialization leads to an IGEM certificate.
